KURULU BAY
A precious hideout under jungle canopies, on the teardrop island, redefining the conventional hotel stay through modest luxury and conscientious hospitality. Kurulu Bay (Sinhalese for “bird island”) is a private sanctuary built around the existing nature. Overlooking Sri Lanka’s most scenic lakes, Koggala Lake, and surrounded by lush greenery, every element has been carefully considered to offer space, privacy and tranquility, with an emphasis on health & wellbeing. The Tree Houses touch lightly onto
the steep hillside, floating over the views, while the Cottages respect and evoke the vernacular to combine with modern design philosophies. The Garden Suites cascade down with the gentle landscape, a modern and minimalist statement nestled into the terrain. The Shala, used as the open space for gathering and practicing yoga facing the sunset over the lake, gives an incredible feeling of calmness. We choose remote locations but always near the ocean, fitting to our safe space philosophy. We organize transfers from Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo – CMB) and will communicate all information on ‘How to get there’ by email.
Prior to the retreat, a WhatsApp group will be created to be able to connect with the collective and get to know each other a little before the start.

The Treehouses
Quietly nestled at the back of the property, perched on a hillside, sit the treehouses. Raised above the surrounding fauna, surrounded by lush greenery, the treehouses offer views that stretch over the lake and the pool, while offering added privacy. Natural light spills generously through the large windows, inviting the outdoors to become an integral part of the experience.

Nestled at the front of the property, the four Garden Suites open to the richly planted garden, with distant views of the tranquil lake. A refreshing breeze drifts through the large, open patio doors —an unparalleled connection to nature that extends to the en-suite bathroom.

The Cottages
The cottages are scattered throughout the landscape, each with a slightly different character. While one of the cottages features a modern, contemporary design philosophy, an additional two cottages feature vernacular architectural design with half flat tiled roofs. All share direct views over the lake.
